Third Floor Attic Remodel – Demo, Electrical, and New Windows

December 7, 2009 by Jen 1 Comment

One of the big selling points of the house on West Street was an unfinished, walk-up attic. As the planned future home of Jen’s business studio, we have been very busy getting the attic remodel underway.

The permit is hanging in our window and work has begun:

These pictures show how the studio first looked…..soon things would become very messy! In the end, however, we are looking at adding just over 400 square feet to the house!

Graham’s family came down to help — while the ladies worked on repainting the kitchen, the boys worked on the framing for the studio.

After he was done with most of the framing and electrical work, Graham installed our brand new windows.

Graham is finishing up some of the electrical this week and then the inspector will pay us a visit! Assuming all goes well, we will begin insulating (which is a very good thing as the snow is falling quite heavily today!!).
